ISK-SODEX ISTANBUL 2008 EXHIBITION Successfully Completed (May 2008)
ISK-Sodex 2008 Istanbul Exhibition was organized by Hannover Messe Sodeks between 8-1 May in Istanbul Expo Center-CNR Expo / Istanbul Turkey. The opening was made by the Industry and Trade Minister Mr. Zafer CAGLAYAN and high level representatives of Hannover Messe Sodeks, Hannover Messe International, DOSIDER, ISKAV, ISKID, IZODER and TTMD. During the ceremony, prizes of the winners of the student contests were also presented.
The exhibition with 52.000 sqm net booth area, 800 booths (130 foreign) and 1350 total exhibitor companies, became the largest exhibition in Turkey in terms of booth area. It has strengthened its place among the top five HVAC&R and Sanitary exhibitions in the world as well.

HCFC Phase-out In Turkey (December 2007)
Although the current Montreal Protocol allows Turkey a longer HCFC phase-out schedule, Turkey is accelerating it. The proposed HCFC phase-out schedule is as below. The directive, which will include measures about refrigerant usage and leakage as well, will be published in the Official Journal in 2008. The import of HCFC containing equipment may be banned on 1.1.2009.

ISKID at China Refrigeration 2007 Exhibition (April 2007)
ISKID attended China Refrigeration 2007 Exhibition which was organized on 4-6 April in  Guangzhou. After exhibitions in West and East Europe, CIS and Middle East Countries, this was the first exhibition of ISKID in China. ISKID and Hannover-Masse Sodeks exhibited together as co-exhibitors. President MR. Ersan BAKANAY and Vice President Mr. Cemal YILMAZ represented ISKID. During the exhibition, ISKID representatives made meetings with CAR (Chinese Association of Refrigeration) and CRAA (China Refrigeration and Air-Conditoning Industry Association). ISKID members who visited the exhibition were invited to the well organized VIP Programme of CAR.

ISKID General Assembly was held (December 2006)
According to its statutes, Turkish AC&R Manufacturers' Association ISKID organizes a general assembly every year. Elections are being made every second year. To the last general assembly on 15th December 2006 in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ataköy/Istanbul, total 54 persons attended. 38 of them were members, 16 were other representatives from member companies, honorary members and ISKID professionals.

General Assembly
During the general assembly, the activity report of the board, budgets and audit report were discussed and approved.
The candidate lists for elections, prepared by Honorary Board, were presented. No other candidates were proposed. Members for board of directors, auditors board and honorary board were elected. During the open talks, members expressed their appreciation to the board and commissions due to their successful work.
The new board of directors accomplished its first meeting on 26th December and elected Mr S. Ersan BAKANAY as the president, Mr Metin DURUK as the vice president (past president) and Mr Cemal YILMAZ as the other vice president. (click for complete list). As before, a vice president has become the president and the president has become a vice president.
In the evening, ISKID's traditional "General Assembly and HVAC&R Industry Dinner" was organized. 120 persons consist of honorary members, members and distinguished guests attended. New Honorary members received their plaquettes.

ISKID General Assembly (October 2006)
Annual ISKID General Assembly will be held on 15th December 2006, in Atakoy Istanbul. Members for Board of Directors, Honorary Board and Auditing Board will be elected. On the evening, a gala dinner for the members of HVAC&R sector of Turkey will take place.

ISKID, Members and Turkish Companies exhibited at IKK Nürnberg 2006 (October 2006)
ISKID, 10 ISKID members and other companies from Turkey successfully exhibited at IKK 2006 Nuremberg. The total number of Turkish boots was 30, of which 17 were in Turkish Pavillions, 13 exhibited individually.

ISKID Will Again Be Present at IKK (October 2006)
With the efforts of its International Trade Commission, ISKID is striving to improve the international relations of the Turkish AC&R sector. ISKID will again be present at the IKK Exhibition, 18-20 October 2006, Nuremberg/Germany.

At the IKK 2006 Nuremberg, there will be 30 booths from Turkey. 12 of them are ISKID members.

Anti Dumping Regulation for PRC Origin Wall Type Split Air Conditioners (July 2006)
Undersecreteriat of the Primeministry for Foreign Trade has completed its investigations about dumping claim of PRC origin split air conditioners. The application which started the investigation was made almost a year ago by a local manufacturer, supported by another local manufacturer. The year of 2004 was the investigated period. Detail and conclusion of this governmental investigation is published on the Official Journal on 26.07.2006. Excerpt from the the conclusion is as below:
Dumping, and as a result loss for local producer were determined. (Governmental) Commission for Evaluation Unfair Competition in Import decided to set an anti-dumping tax, Minister approved. 

ISKID did not take part in this investigation.

ISK-SODEX 2006 ISTANBUL EXHIBITION SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED (May 2006)
The International HVAC&R and Sanitary Exhibition ISK-Sodex 2006 Istanbul has been held between 4-7 May 2006 at CNR Expo Istanbul.
The exhibition was officially opened by Rifat HISARCIKLIOGLU, Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and other personalities, alongside Mr Metin DURUK, President of ISKID. Mr DURUK's address was on behalf of DOSIDER, ISKID, IZODER, TTMD and ISKAV. These organizations work together in cooperation with HMSF to develop the ISK-Sodex Exhibition. Actually, "ISK" is a brandname of DOSIDER, ISKID, IZODER and TTMD associations.
The exhibition was held in 10 halls on 49.000 sqm net display area. There were 1324 exhibitors from 38 countries on 735 booths. 47 ISKID members covered 12 812 sqm booth area. Facts and Figures about the exhibition can be found on the End of Show Report of HMSF.

During the exhibition, Turkish AC&R Association ISKID has concentrated its efforts on developing its international relations. President, board members and executive director of ISKID met with representatives of German VDMA, Indian AIACRA, Chinese CAR and CRAA, Slovak SZCHKT, Iranian ISHRAI, Greek and Russian associations. Korean KRAIA and Bulgarian NIS associations are also in contact with ISKID. By all these contacts, mutual cooperation to develop the trade and information exchange between Turkey and these countries will increase.
Among various foreign press members, representatives of JARN Magazine were also present at the ISK-Sodex 2006. A summary of the JARN's article about the exhibition can be found at www.jarn.co.jp.

ISKID MOVED (May 2006)
AC&R Manufacturers' Association ISKID moved to its new office on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The new office is being shared with Turkish White Goods Manufacturers' Association TURKBESD and White Goods Suppliers Association BEYSAD. A new synergy is born.

ISKID was present at ROMTHERM 2006 Bucharest: (March 2006)
ISKID exhibited at the ROMTHERM Exhibition between 22-25 March 2006 in Bucharest/Romania. At the booth of ISKID-HMSF (Hall 18, Booths 7), representatives and printed publication material of ISKID were presented, alongside with representatives of some ISKID member companies and their publications.

Turkish HVAC&R Sector Exhibited at MCE 2006 Milan: (March 2006)
ISKID joined Mostra Convegno Expocomfort as co-exhibitor with Hannover Messe Sodeks Fuarcilik Co. ISKID and its members were represented at the booth and various meetings at  the exhibition were attained. The total number of Turkish exhibitors was 40.

ISKID International Projects Commissions meeting was held (February 2006)
ISKID International Projects Commission is preparing an educational project entitled "Awareness-raising, Research and Education on Hygienic Air Conditioning Systems in Hospitals". For this purpose, an expanded meeting was held.
Total 15 attendees from ISKID, Chamber of Mechanical Engineers, TTMD (member of ASHRAE) and from the sector joined the meeting. The valuable visions of the attendees will be useful for the preparation of the project. Also, the commission acquired new members who will work on this project. To obtain financial support from EU Training Programmes is aimed as well
.

ISKID General Assembly was Held (January 2006)
ISKID Annual General Assembly was held on 31th January 2006 in Istanbul. The highlight of the assembly was that 23 articles in ISKID statutes were amended and 4 new articles were added. The amendments and additions were mostly regarding the new regulations about associations. These regulations were subject to considerable changes last year, due to the transposition of EU legislation.
There was no election at this years general assembly.

Turkish AC&R Sector Exhibited at IKK 2005 Hannover with Great Success: (November 2005)
Turkish National Pavilion and booths of individual Turkish companies created the third largest foreign exhibiting country based on stand area, after Italy and China. ISKID President A. Metin DURUK joined the opening ceremony as a speaker. In his speech, he explained Turkey's importance for the EU and the capabilities of the Turkish Air-Conditioning and refrigeration Sector.

Turkey Started Talks on Joining the European Union: (October 2005)
After two-days-long meeting of the EU foreign ministers, the EU opened membership talks with Turkey. Turkey approved the framework for talks. Turkish Foreign Minister joined the opening ceremony in Luxembourg. Talks consist of 35 chapters and expected to last for about ten years.

IKK 2005 Hannover Press Conference: (September 2005)
Hannover Messe International Istanbul hold IKK 2005 Hannover Exhibition Press Conference on 7th September 2005 in Istanbul. About 35 people from Turkish press and AC&R sector were present at the event. Presentations were made by the following persons:

Turkey Started Anti-dumping Investigation against Chinese Mini-split Air Conditioners (July 2005)
After the application of a main Turkish mini-split air conditioner producer (backed-up by the other main producer), Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade started an anti-dumpimg investigation against Chinese mini-split air conditioners. Detailed forms are sent to Chinese manufacturers and their Turkish distributors to be filled in.
The investigation may be completed in 6 to 18 months, temporary countermeasures can be taken before the completion. The investigation may involve more than 30 Chinese manufacturers in two ways: about the sales in Turkey, and about the re-export of Chinese air conditioners to the EU, the middle-east and the CIS countries. Another anti-dumping investigation about TV's made in China resulted in levying approx. 50% anti dumping duty.
Split AC Commission of ISKID is also working about the topic.

Visit to ALARKO-CARRIER Factory: (June 2005)
Social Activities Commission of ISKID is arranging a visit to Alarko-Carrier Factory in Gebze on 21th June 2005. The programme starts at 11:00 and covers visiting of the offices, production facilities and laboratories. After this programme, ISKID Board Meeting will start at 15:00 at the same place, to which board members and willing ISKID members will attend. We thank Alarko-Carrier for this organization.

ISKID at BUILDEX’05 Syria Exhibition: (May 2005)
ISKID participated in Buildex 11th International Exhibition For Construction Technology and Building Industry, together with Hannover Messe Sodeks Fuarcilik. The exhibition took place in Damascus/Syria on 12-17 May 2005
Last years version of this exhibition was completed by the attendance of 1164 companies from 49 countries. The exhibition is the first exhibition about construction in Syria. Exhibited products and services were construction materials, infrastructure projects and construction engineering, construction machinery and tools, electricity & electronic equipment & technologies, HVAC systems and sanitary technologies. ISKID's booth was in the 1st hall of total 16. Turkish AC&R sector and members of ISKID were promoted using catalogues and brochures.
Buildex Syria 2005 Exhibition, is the second foreign exhibition in which ISKID exhibited. The first one was Climatización Madrid, 23-26 February 2005.

ISKID "Welcome Summer Brunch: (May 2005)
Social Activities Commission of ISKID has successfully organized "Welcome Summer Brunch" on 15th May 2005. More than 50 members and guests from the sector joined this social activity together with their families.

ISKID Market Inspection and Unfair Competition Commission announced that applications about unfair competition and issues which can harm the consumers can be made to ISKID. 

HVAC&R Turkey '05 is published: (Feb 2005)
2005 issue of HVAC&R Turkey Magazine is published. The magazine is being prepared by Doga Trade Publication Group, with the cooperation of the International Trade Commission of ISKID. This third issue of the annual magazine describes the abilities and advantages of the Turkish HVAC&R Sector. ISKID Statistics are also given in the magazine.
The magazine is being distributed during various international exhibitions and per post. In order to receive a copy, please contact Doga or ISKID.

First meeting of the new ISKID Board

ISKID General Assembly was held: (December 2004)
ISKID General Assembly was held on 10th December 2004 in Taksim/Istanbul. After the approval of 2004 activities and accounts, proposed amendments for the statutes have been discussed. Members of the New Board of Directors, Auditing Commission and Discipline Committee were elected.
On the evening of the General Assembly, members and guests from the sector attended the Gala Dinner. Plaques were presented to the new Honor Members.

ISK-Sodex 2004 Exhibition successfully completed:  (May 2004)
International Sanitary & HVAC Exhibition ISK-Sodex 2004 is completed as a great success. The exhibition was opened by the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Minister of Industry and TradeAli Coşkun. 42.000 m2 net booth area, 1450 companies, National Pavillions of various countries, and the increase in the number of foreign visitors, were the highlights of the successful exhibition. The exhibition is being supported by the ISKAV Foundation and associations, namely DOSIDER, ISKID, IZODER and TTMD.
